The wrong half explained
Tikkertje shrinks the city and keeps players on the move. One of its most exciting rules is the wrong half: the organiser marks part of the map and sets a deadline, for example fifteen minutes after the start.
What happens when the deadline hits
If you are in the wrong half after the deadline, you become the tagger. The previous tagger goes back to being a normal player. Points and areas stay as they are: the penalty is the role, not your score.
Five things to remember
- The deadline is a fixed moment counted from the start of the game, not time spent somewhere.
- If you were there earlier but left in time, you have nothing to fear.
- The rule counts once per player: at your first usable GPS fix after the deadline.
- No signal is no evidence. You are not punished because your phone reports nothing.
- There is always exactly one tagger. If things happen at once, the server decides the order.
Closures are something else
Apart from the wrong half, the organiser can close parts of the city, for instance West after ninety minutes. A closed area stays with its owner, but nobody can claim it. You may still stand there. That makes the timing of your claims matter.
Because only the tagger can see you, nobody else can check where you are: the server works it out. Organising a game yourself? See how to set up a city or drag through the timeline on the features page.
